IMMRAC Research Projects:

 

Most of IMMRAC research is carried out by graduate students (MA, and PhD) at the Maritime Civilizations Department and the Recanati Institute of Maritime Studies, University of Haifa the main academic-umbrella of the Center. Additional research projects are carried out by undergraduate and graduate students from the Faculty of Life Sciences, Tel Aviv University. Research is carried out also by IMMRACs veterinarians, and in collaboration with other laboratories such as the Institute of Biology in Ness Ziona and the Veterinary Institute in Bet Dagan. The Department of Chemistry at the Israel Oceanographic & Limnological Research (IOLR) is a continuous partner in the research of cetacean tissue pollutants. The Israeli National Marine Fisheries Division at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is an active partner in the study of dolphin interactions with Israeli trawl fishing fleet and by-catch of cetaceans in fishing gear.
